Reviews the most important features of the autoerotic death scene (location, victim position, the injurious agent, the self-rescue mechanism, bondage, masochism, attire, protective padding, sexual paraphernalia, and masturbatory activity) and the principal sources of information regarding the victim's previous experience (i.e., from relatives, permanently affixed protective padding, suspension point abrasions, complexity of the injurious agent, and collected materials) with the activity that led to his or her death. Cases of victims are presented to illustrate features of autoerotic fatalities.
